Associate Professor David Hansen, ANU Centre for Art History & Theory, has been awarded the prestigious Nina Stanton Copland Foundation Scholarship.

This award, named in honour of the late Founding Chair of the Copland Foundation and Director of The Johnston Collection, provides an Australian curator or scholar with a place at the Attingham Trust’s Royal Collection Studies program; COVID permitting, it will be held in September this year.

The Attingham Trust, a UK-based educational charitable trust, offers programs that explore historic residences, their collections and landscapes. Its Royal Collection Studies course enables participants to visit and explore buildings and collections at Windsor Castle, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Hampton Court, the Queen’s House, Greenwich, and Kensington ad Buckingham Palaces.

Dr Hansen is Convenor of several CAHAT curatorial courses, inc. The Art and Politics of Collecting, and the Attingham course will provide him with valuable insights into British royal collecting, as well as a range of international networking opportunities.
