Congratulations to Dr Rebecca Mayo, Lecturer in Printmedia & Drawing, and Saskia Morris, Technical Officer at ANU Makerspace who have been awarded a 2021 College of Arts & Social Sciences Teaching Grant.

Building on existing cross campus collaboration between the ANU Makerspace and the printmaking workshop, the grant will pioneer new approaches to teaching & learning that combine cutting edge technology with creative practice. This learning, and the open access resources produced will be invaluable as the School of Art & Design develops its own ANU Makerspace Node.

The grant will fund the development of a series of instructional videos, an online resource and a one-day MakerSpace workshop.

The one-day workshop will ensure that students learn about the culture of the MakerSpace while also being inducted into the space and trained on relevant equipment- setting them up with access to the MakerSpace community for their entire degree.

The resources and videos will be hosted on a new website, accessible to all students and academics from the SOAD and CASS who wish to use the MakerSpace.
