Dierdre Pearce, chimera 09052018 (detail), digital and mixed media collage on paper.
Reception: 5:30pm, Thursday, 21 June 2018
Exhibition Dates: 19 – 29 June 2018
This exhibition imagines an individual’s digital presence as a chimerical organism composed of fragments originating from a multitude of sources including the individual, others in their network, and the data technologists who create, manipulate and analyse digital information.
Merging ideas from genetics and biological systems with news feeds, search engines and linked data networks, the installation explores ways these might shape conceptions of self, including bodily integrity, identity and authenticity.
