A period of accelerating change has begun, which will further unsettle already unsettled populations, governments and pluri-futures. Viewing the world of design at a time of global epochal change there is speculation of how “things” will change. However, at the same time there are growing, underexplored forces of change that are converging. Three key phrases denote the scale of difference contextually of such change, strategically framing the future of design to be discussed in this seminar: cosmotechnics, foundational adaptation, and technological autonomy.
