Critical AI in the Art Museum is brought to you by the Computational Culture Lab, in the School of Art & Design at The Australian National University with financial support from the College of Arts and Social Sciences. Organised by A/Prof. Katrina Sluis and SoAD HDR student Erica Molesworth.
Join us for an Online Panel Discussion: Data, Models, Bodies, Publics with Vladan Joler, Simone C Niquille, Machine Listening, and Caroline Sinders. The fourth event in Critical AI in the Art Museum: Practices & Politics, a series of online discussions happening in October & November 2023 on Zoom hosted at ANU, all welcome.
There is growing awareness of how machine learning is being deployed to classify audiences, publics, and bodies both inside and outside the art museum. How might artists re-appropriate, intervene, and re-claim machine learning for culturally progressive ends? What methodologies and approaches might inform a critical AI praxis?
When: Tuesday 21st November for 90 minutes, 7:30pm Canberra time [08:30 London / 09:30 Berlin / 13:30 Mumbai / 16:30 Singapore]
