Have you recently finished art school or decided you’d like to pursue a career in visual arts? Have you been working as an artist but don’t quite know how to access the best resources to help you understand contracts and tax, gallery hire & commission?

Getting your Career Started provides an overview of the range of skills necessary to be a practicing artist.

This session is suitable for anyone who doesn’t quite understand the complexities of how to get your career started (or how to sustain it once you’ve made a start!)

 

Presenter: Ellis Hutch

Ellis Hutch is a visual artist and sessional lecturer at the Australian National University School of Art & Design. Ellis’s teaching interests span drawing, sculpture, installation, video and performance art, and art theory. She’s currently teaching the Professional Practices course in Foundation Studies at the ANU School of Art & Design.
