This five day workshop with preeminent Canadian furniture designer, maker, and teacher Michael Fortune will cover a range of processes and techniques that will open up the possibilities in your design and making.  Michael Fortune, known for his exquisite furniture, especially chairs, is particularly expert in his innovative uses of jigs to ensure accurate and repeatable joinery in components involving compound angles and curves.

This workshop will focus on on chairs, benches, stools, and use that as a vehicle for a wide variety demos of techniques and processes.  You can look forward to an action packed class where everyone designs and builds a chair mock-up in just five days.

This course is appropriate for students with Intermediate to Advanced woodworking skills.

Michael Fortune will also be giving a public slide lecture about his own work one of the evenings (TBD)

Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 10 students.

Tuition:

$770 includes GST
Tuition includes instruction and technical support 9am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-5pm for 5 days, as well as materials for demonstrations and exercises. 
Additional timber can be purchased/provided by students as needed.
