Joaquin Garcia Quintana is a Mexican artist whose expansive practice is highly regarded both within Mexico and internationally. Joaquin has developed an important role as educator during more than 15 years in the Institute Regional of Fine Arts in Matamoros, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Tamaulipas and was an art director in Art workshop in Brownsville TX, where and to this day, he teaches adults and children in his impressive studio in Matamoros. He has received recognition as a “plastic artist” and has been awarded in his hometown for 20 years of artistic career. Joaquin has also an honorific Mention for his participation in the contest Latino American for the magazine of El Universo “el Buho” in Mexico City. In Phoenix he made a mural for the Southwest Key Center and participated in 2011 in the Day of the Dead celebration at Musical Instruments Museum. In April of 2012 Garcia Quintana recently unveiled a mural named “Rostro Infinito” at the Consulate General of United States of America at their request in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
