School of Art & Design students, Holly George and Vy Tsan, are among a cohort of students accepted into the ACICIS 2024 Creative Arts & Design Professional Practicum (CADPP).

Beginning in the first week of January 2024, CADPP is an intensive six-week study program that enables students to gain hands-on industry experience with a professional organisation in Jakarta, Indonesia.

With placements offered across disciplines such as animation, architecture, urban planning, arts management & curatorial, environmental & sustainable design, film, graphic design, illustration, museums, printmaking, textile and video, students will be given the opportunity to collaborate with Indonesian peers and produce their own works.

Vy Tsan, who is studying a Bachelor of Art History & Curatorship, will undergo her placement at Galeri Nasional Indonesia, while Holly, who is studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts, sees her placement at Two Islands Digital as an opportunity to pursue her passion for digital mediums.

“I feel honoured that the program accepted my application and understood my interest for going” Holly said.

Having lived in Singapore for a few years while in school, she gained a love for South East Asia and the landscape, saying "I'm excited to learn about what kind of films [Two Islands Digital] make and how they capture culture and landscape in their making practice”.

“I was also interested in the idea of studying and travelling at the same time, indulging in a new culture while completing some course units.”

“I'm looking forward to making international connections and relationships with people that will hopefully last me throughout my filmmaking career."  Holly said.
