Salary package: $ 86,960 - $90,937 per annum plus 17% Superannuation
Term: Full time, Fixed Term (up to 11 months)

The School of Art & Design (SOA&D) is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Officer to ensure the safe operation, maintenance and development of the School’s studios, and technical compliance capabilities. The position will work closely with academic and professional staff, students, visitors and external collaborators.

Position overview

The Senior Technical Officer coordinates the daily operations of technical support within the School and provide technical oversight of activities and equipment in specialised techniques and processes, including high risk activities. The Senior Technical Officer will provide high-level technical support and advice, complex problem solving, strategic planning and support to academic and professional staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students, visitors and other external users and stakeholders. This includes supporting research students with exhibition installation for examination in the SOA&D Gallery.

The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is one of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 57 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both. We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and three ARC Laureates.
