BVA (Hons) (ANU)Emma Beer has been working as the Technical Officer in the Painting Workshop since 2008.
Her most recent solo exhibition It’s All About Eve opened at ANCA Gallery in April 2016. In 2014 she had her first international exhibition PRINCESS OF THE RIVERINA at the Reading Room in London after winning the 2013 Canberra Artists Patrons Organisation (CAPO) London Emerging Artist Award.
Since graduating from the ANU School of Art & Design in 2009 with first class Honours in Painting, Emma has received several significant awards. In 2015 she was a finalist for the Fremantle Print Prize at the Fremantle Arts Centre, and was a nominee for the Redlands Emerging Artist Art Prize. In 2014 she was awarded Highly Commended as a finalist for The Brett Whiteley Traveling Scholarship and was a recipient of the print residency at Megalo print studio & gallery. In 2010 she was beneficiary of The Spanish Embassy Torres Scholarship for Young Australian Artists and in 2009 she received the Emerging Artist Support Scheme Canberra Contemporary Art Space residency.
Recent group exhibitions include Obnoxious Ladies I Women in the Landscape at Canberra Contemporary Art Space, curated by Sabrina Baker; Modeling the now in collaboration with Nigel Lendon at The Drill Hall Gallery, ANU; Going Steady at ANCA Gallery, curated by Annika Harding; Word Of Mouth at Canberra Museum and Gallery, curated by Mark Bayly; and THINGS WE DENOTE TO KEEP at Sawtooth ARI, Launceston.
