Alison Alder awarded Australian Prime Ministers Centre 2015-16 fellowship

Alison Alder, Head of the ANU School of Art Printmedia & Drawing Workshop is one of six academics announced as the Australian Prime Ministers Centre 2015-16 fellows.
Since 2007, the Australian Prime Ministers Centre fellowships have supported some of Australia's leading academics, writers and artists undertake research projects that have resulted in books and scholarly articles, conferences, seminars, plays, documentaries and exhibitions.
The fellowship allows researchers to engage with the collections and staff at cultural institutions including the Museum of Australian Democracy, the National Library of Australia and the National Archives of Australia.
Alison will use her residency at the Museum of Australian Democracy to explore images of the first eight prime ministers up to 1928 and analyse the pose, location, objects, people and captions associated with these images. She will use this research to reinterpret the images in a series of contemporary screen printed artworks.
